Search for freight services to West Africa and you will find plenty of global names happy to quote. The harder question is who actually controls the cargo once it arrives — who clears it, who trucks it, who answers when something stalls at a border post.
A credible regional partner should be able to show you: an on-the-ground presence or a genuinely accountable agent network; named corridors they run regularly; how customs clearance is handled and by whom; and what happens operationally when a shipment goes wrong.
Ask about evidence, not promises. Which credentials are held, which are pending, and which services run through partner networks? A provider who labels their status honestly is safer than one who claims everything.
Finally, look for fit. A spot shipment to test a market needs a different arrangement than a contracted distribution programme. The right partner will tell you which model fits — including when the answer is a simple per-shipment quote rather than a contract.
